My head is pounding... Why is my head pounding? Why is my body aching so much right now? Everything's gone dark... Something's burning. Is it me? "You were drugged." I heard somepony say. Who's talking? "They shot you in the back with this little marvel. Luckily, I was able to clean up after your mess." That voice... It sounds too high-pitched to be that of a colt. Is it you, Ai?

"Having too much fun? I expected a party, and at parties, there's always that one guest that drugs another with a good ol' magic pill. I'd have to say this: you've got quite the flare for the dramatic. If I knew any better, I'd say that you possess a true kindling passion for thrills." Now's not the time to make jokes Silver. If I can only bring myself to opening my eyes... "Oh I'm sorry! It seems like I've forgotten about your eyes. Yes, you see; they are covered in ashes." What?! "Luckily, Ai has brought you a remedy, while I was too busy escorting our taser-happy buddies of of here. So much for undercover then."

"Now, you might feel a little pain," he went on, "but I assure you that it will not last longer than a millisecond. Unless, of course, you make it difficult for me." What does that even mean? "Steady now. Don't move!" Hey, wait a minute! You sound kind of different. "Oh? Is it the voice? Sorry, I've been trying to hide my Canterlot accent, in fear that you would not understand me. I must have been doing an awful job anyways." Actually, I don't know what it is about you, but everything you say fills my heart with trust. There's something in your voice, telling me you've seen it all. Maybe that's why you're never surprised by anything?

Silver said nothing, having stopped fiddling around with whatever he was concocting. "Did I say something wrong?" I finally asked. Silence. He sprayed something in my eyes, and I collapsed to the floor, trying to squeeze out the pain somehow. And just like that, the pain vanished as suddenly as it came. I could see again. The grey colt sat there, seemingly mourning. Ai was nowhere to be seen. All around me were organic feathers of varying sizes. There were two variations in color: some where pure white, while others were of a light violet hue, fading to a rosy, pink color towards the edges. They certainly didn't belong to me, considering they were real feathers.

Actually, these purple ones remind me of Ai's fur coat. In fact, I've never seen her take off that maid uniform she is required to wear, not even for public appearances. "Have you ever wondered why things are the way they are, no matter how hard you tried to change them?" I heard somepony speak behind me. "Tell me; what do you think of this world?" I turned around. Silver just sat there motionless. His mane covered his entire face. Crystal clear tears slid down his cheeks, landing gracefully onto a deprived ground, like rain in the desert. It was the first time I saw him like this. Normal ponies would only see a grown colt weeping. However, I saw something else. I can't quite explain it either...

"Analysis complete sir!" cried Ai from behind. She held a small, pen-like dart in her hooves. "What shall we do sir?"

"Destroy it. Erase it from this world. Crush it to pieces, until there is absolutely nothing left of it!" For the first time, his voice was filled with rage. This was anger on a whole other level. "It never should have been here in the first place!" Ai placed the metallic object beneath her hoof, attempting to smash it to bit. I decided to help a bit. Just a tiny spark...

"Stand back." I ordered. She didn't budge. "I said stand back!" I don't know what this thing is, but for some reason, my blood is boiling. I can't even control my hooves anymore, my eyesight gone red with anger. The crowd seems to have long dispersed. Finally, nothing can hold me back now. The closer I was to the dart, the blurrier, and the more red it became. I was within less than a foot of it. Now, all I see of red and white scribbles. My head is just pounding louder and louder. What is this force trying to pull me back?! No... I will not turn back! I will not be used like this! I WILL NOT BE A SPECIMEN TO YOUR LITTLE GAMES!!!

"Are you alright there, DIsconnection?" Huh? Silver? Why can I hear you now? I tried getting up, but gravity threw me back down again. "You're losing a lot of blood, stop!" One more time... I have to get up just one more time... "Enough Disconnection! You'll dislodge your bones!" Huh? What are you talking about? Why did everything go dark suddenly? "The drugs are still in effect Silver! What do we do?"

"I don't think he can distinguish reality from delusion anymore. Here, hand me the red syrup." answered her master. Will the both of you stop shaking me around?! "This is bad master! He's having some sort of seizure! You sure about this? The red syrup is forbidden for a reason." she exclaimed. I tried punching her in the face, just so she could shut up. Failure yet again it seems. How about now? No? How about this? No... This then! No? Seriously guys... Will you two just stop shaking me? Are you trying to spin me around as well? And where is all that light coming from? It feels like I'm watching a freaking twister from underneath.

"Syrup, now!" Wait a minute, what are you shoving down my throat? What are you doing Silver? What are you d...

"There we go! He's fine now, you see? What did I tell you about trusting me, Ai?" Wait a minute, I'm in front of the fountain again! Looks like my eyesight is fixed, and I don't feel dizzy anymore. "What happened to me?" I asked the two

"You were still under the effects of the drugs they used. Out of the blue, you were just wailing on that little dart over there. See it, or at least what's left of it? The pieces of steels started tearing through your skin, and you just kept punching them relentlessly. Eventually, they got stuck underneath the skin of your arms, and just sliced right through the topmost layers of skin from underneath. Then..."

"Okay, too much information Silver!" I interrupted. "Glad to see you're back to normal Flames," he added. I'm just glad you're not crying anymore Silver. Still, can you tell Ai to show me some form of empathy? "I'll work on that," he added. We both laughed.

"That was quite the performance you put on there, Flames," said a voice from behind. I jumped up in surprise, too afraid to turn around. It was deep, scruffy, and had no positive connotations attached to it. "I bow before you, Flames of Fate." Reluctantly, I peeked over my shoulder. There were two masked ponies at the speaker's side, all covered in a bloody red armor, all bearing a white, faceless theater mask. Whoever had chosen to speak to me came closer. I could see nothing underneath that black hooded cape of his. It was outlined in a bloodier red than that of the armors his companions/minions boar. However, my sharp cat eyes detected minuscule symbols, written in some sort of ancient language sown over the red outline.

"Citizen name: Disconnection Maverick. Occupation: History Major and author of fiction novels such as 'Desert' and 'Empty Days.' Lives entirely off his revenues, and family inheritance. Teaches for fun at schools all across the islands, and is most irritated by those who aren't willing to learn." I backed away, surprised by what he knew. He had no script, and nopony telling him what to say. All this information about me; could somepony have tipped him off? Ai and Silver quickly came to mind. Nah, it can't be. their body language; how they too are backing away is just too real. This level of trust, established oh so fast. I can't really explain what it is, but it just is.

"I'm surprised you even survived the poison. It was scientifically engineered to kill within ten minutes, causing intense burst of violence, designed to kill anyone within a ten meter radius. Then again, I guess your little friends are a quite special, aren't they?" Silver stepped in front of Ai, protecting her with his own body. "Anyways, I digress; welcome to the Surface, Neo-Equestrian."
This is when things get real.

Disconnection discovers that he was drugged during his confrontation with the guards, and barely survive's the poison's side-effects. However, it seems like sompepony else has been watching all this time...
